Fort Valley, GA- This afternoon, Morehouse finished their three week on the road schedule against Fort Valley. Fort Valley would score three times in a six-minute span of the third quarter causing Morehouse to fall short, 56-28.
The Maroon Tigers would go the entire first quarter without scoring but quickly turned that around in the second quarter with a three yard rushing touchdown by Charles Daniels. Olu Baker would follow behind with a good field goal attempt making the score, 7-14. Fort Valley would score one more time during the second half and Morehouse would respond with another touchdown by Charles Daniels leaving the Wildcats with the lead by one score, 21-14.
The Wildcats running back Emanuel Wilson took over. On his fourth-straight carry of the second possession of the third frame, Wilson was gone for 60 yards and the touchdown. The FVSU score started a run of three touchdowns in a row. A 13-yard Gentry Sparks screen pass from Kelvin Durham before Wilson turned another short Durham toss into a 54-yard touchdown and suddenly the Wildcats raced ahead, 49-14, and never looked back against the Maroon Tigers.
The Maroon Tigers are back at home next weekend, Oct 22, as they get ready to take on Benedict College for Homecoming! Kick off at 2pm.
