#13 Morehouse Earns Senior Day Win Against Paine, 80-72

ATLANTA, Ga. - On a day that saw the #13 ranked Morehouse College basketball team honor seniors, Omar Alston, James Walker and Kendell Walker, head coach Grady Brewer picked up his 298th career win tying him for second all-time with Frank Forbes with a victory over Paine College, 80-72, Saturday afternoon at Forbes Arena in Atlanta, Ga.

The Maroon Tigers took a 14 point lead into the locker rooms 41-27 and continued the pace in the second half going up by as many as 25 before holding on for the eight point victory.

Turning Point
The Maroon Tigers had a strong grip on the game throughout both the first and second halves. MHC took their largest lead of 25 points at 4:48 mark (51-76).

Individual Leaders
Senior forward Omar Alston (Waldorf, MD) finished the game with his 14th double-double of the year with 20 points shooting 10-11 from the field while hauling down 18 rebounds. Junior guard Michael Olmert (Atlanta, GA) was the Maroon Tigers second leading scorer; finishing the game with 9 points to go with 8 assist.

Sophomore guard Cameron Gaines (Conyers, Ga) finished the contest with 20 points of his own off of 8-14 shooting from the field. Junior center Deshawndric Nelms (Davenport, FL) was the leading rebounder for the Lions, pulling down a total of nine boards.
