Maroon Tigers' Comeback Falls Short In Loss To North Georgia

ATLANTA, Ga. – Morehouse College fell to the University of North Georgia in a non-conference match-up, 69-63, on Wednesday evening in Forbes Arena.

The Maroon Tigers fall to 2-2 on the season while the Nighthawks climbed to 4-1.

MHC was unable to gain the lead throughout the first half against UNG. The score was 38-24 going into the half. Morehouse also ended the first half shooting only 25 percent from the field.

After falling behind 56-37 in the second half the Maroon Tigers made a ferocious run to cut the Nighthawks lead to 67-63 with :18 remaining. North Georgia would seal the lead with late free-throws.

Individual Leaders
Sophomore  guard Malik Kennedy (Toronto, CAN) was the leading scorer for the game with 17 points, shooting 53.8 percent (7-13). Senior guard Michael Olmert (Atlanta, GA) had 10 points, seven boards, and had a game-high eight assists. Freshman forward Kevin Powell (Newnan, GA) led the Maroon tigers pulled down a team-high eight boards.

Nighthawks' Watson led his team with 13 points while Brown and Tshimanga both ended with 12 points.
