Box Score 2 April 6, 2018 – AUGUSTA, GA – The Maroon Tigers completed their first doubleheader sweep, in two months, with an, 11-9 and a 6-3, win over the Paine College Lions.
Not since February 24, when they swept Concordia, have the Tigers won both halves of a doubleheader. The win over the East Division rival also broke a three-game losing streak.
The win, in game one, was remarkable, for two reasons. One, because the Tigers scored four runs in the seventh, to pull the game out. Two, because they beat Paine ace Evan Krenz, who has vexed Morehouse hitters for four years and had just been named the SIAC Pitcher of the Week for the third straight week. Morehouse pounded the senior hurler for 15 hits and 10 runs.
