Maroon Tigers Swept by Bears

Box Score March 16, 2018 – The Maroon Tigers suffered a third straight loss to the Miles College Golden Bears, 9-3. The loss completed a three-game sweep by the Bears, in the season's first conference action.
 
Yesterday, Miles won both halves of a doubleheader, 7-6 and 14-9.
 
Today, Miles got all the runs they needed in the second inning, when they touch up starting pitcher Anthony Dodd for four runs. Dodd took the loss and fell to 1-4.
 
Catcher Kaelan Ashford-Jones drove in all three Morehouse runs, with singles in the first and third innings and a double in the ninth. Ashford-Jones was 3 of 3 from the plate.
 
Roosevelt Barnes and Xavier Floyd each had one hit, but Auliver Astin was the only other Tiger with more than one hit. Astin went 2 of 5 and scored two runs.
 
Morehouse (9-16) will be off until Saturday, when the Claflin Panthers visit Perkerson Park for a three-game weekend series.
