Maroon Tigers Lose to Lions

Box Score In the getaway game of the weekend series, the Maroon Tigers lost to the Paine College Lions, 6-1.

Morehouse split with Paine in yesterday's doubleheader. The Lions won the first game, 14-7, in routine fashion and the Tigers won the second, in a spectacular come-from-behind, bottom of the last inning six-run rally.

In today's game, the Lions out-hit the Tigers 14-5. Adam Martin went the distance for the Lions and improved to 4-3.

The only Morehouse run was a solo homer by Jared Maner, in the sixth inning. Maner's blast was his fourth of the season and was one of his two hits on the day.  The other Morehouse hits -- all singles -- came from Jason Davis, Xavier Floyd and Zachary Lowe

Kristopher Skinner started on the mound for Morehouse. He surrendered 12 hits and six runs, but only three of the runs were earned. Skinner struck out five and walked four. Jordan Davis came on to pitch the final three innings. He gave up two hits and struck out four.

Morehouse, which fell to 6-24; 3-9, travels to Albany State, next weekend, to face the Golden Rams. The Tigers return home the following weekend, for the final home series against the Clark Atlanta Panthers.
