Maroon Tigers Open Season on Road

November 9, 2017 – ATLANTA – After a strong exhibition showing against the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the Maroon Tigers begin the 2017-18 season at the South Region Crossover, Friday.

In a four-team, inter-conference tournament, Morehouse and Clark Atlanta University, of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, will match up against the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) and Rollins College, of the Sunshine State Conference.

Morehouse will take on FIT, Friday, at 1 p.m., followed by CAU and Rollins, at 3 p.m. On Saturday, the SIAC neighbors will swap opponents. CAU will play FIT at 12 p.m. and Morehouse will play Rollins at 2 p.m.  

Thursday, at UAB, the Maroon Tigers hung tough for most of the game, before fading down the stretch, against the Division I Blazers.

With 3:06 remaining, the Tigers trailed 70-62, but the bigger, more experienced Blazers poured it on and won going away.

Martravious Little led the Tigers with 21 points. The senior co-captain hit 7 of 10 shots from the field, including 3 of 3 from beyond the arc. He added five rebounds and four steals to his impressive stat line.

Tyrius Walker poured in 18 points, to go with four assists, three steals and two rebounds. Jordan Wallace chipped in 11 points, three steals and two assists.

Morehouse will play the season's first home game, against the University of West Georgia Wolves, November 21, at 7 p.m., at Forbes
Arena.
