Morehouse, Paine Split Doubleheader

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 April 16, 2016 – ATLANTA – The Maroon Tigers split a doubleheader with Paine.  The Lions won the first game, 6-3, the Tigers won game two, 6-4. 

In Game One:
Lefty Daron Bowling pitched a complete game and got the loss. Bowling gave up seven hits, six walks and six earned runs.

The Lions jumped on Bowling early, putting up three runs in the first, on a walk, a single and a home run. TPaine tagged on two more runs in the third and one in the fifth.

The Maroon Tigers managed only seven hits against E. Krentz, one of the SIAC's top pitchers for the past three years. Krentz struck out seven and walked zero.

Morehouse first baseman Xavier Floyd got two hits and scored in the seventh. Bryan Armstead and Elijah Sudduth had identical stat lines – one hit on three trips to the plate and one RBI.  
 
In Game Two:
Pitcher Kristopher Skinner scattered eight hits and gave up four runs, in a complete game win. Skinner improved his record to a team-leading 7-5.

Javon Phillips swung the big bat, going 3 for 4, with an RBI and a run scored.

Ryan Christian, Xavier Floyd, Bobby Kannady and Jared Maner picked up two hits apiece.

The Lions and Tigers will do battle again, Sunday, in one nine-inning game, scheduled for 1 p.m.
