In Game 1:

The Maroon Tigers converted 10 hits and six walks into 14 runs and beat the Clark Atlanta Panthers for the fifth straight time this season.

After posting one run in each of the first two innings, the Tigers exploded for seven runs in the fourth and five in the sixth to bury their cross-campus rivals.

Morehouse's leading hitter Jared Maner led the offense with two hits and a walk, in four trips to the plate. Maner, the left fielder and leading hitter at .435, drove in two runs and scored two.

Middle infield mates Derrick Lewis and Elijah Sudduth joined the Morehouse hit parade with identical line scores. Each had two hits, two RBI and a run scored.

The biggest blow came from catcher Zachary Lowe who was in the game as the designated hitter. Lowe hit a bases-loaded triple in the fourth that fueled the rally and gave Morehouse a comfortable cushion.

Pitcher Daron Bowling picked up the win, going four-and-a-third innings in relief of Jason Davis, who started the game but struggle with his control. Bowling gave up five runs, but only one of them was earned and all came in the seventh inning with the Tigers well ahead.

Shortstop Malcolm Seabrooks swung the big bat for the Panthers, collecting three hits, three RBI and scoring a run.

In Game 2:

Morehouse jumped out early and held on to win the second half of the doubleheader and capture their third conference win.

The Maroon Tigers scored four runs in the first, two in the fourth and tacked on three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Clark Atlanta scored four runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and two in the seventh, but the late runs were too little too late.

Anthony Dodd pitched five strong innings, giving up seven runs, but only two of them were earned. Dodd struck out five and walked three.

Xzadrean Gladney came on in relief in the seventh and shut down the Panthers.

Morehouse improved to 10-14 (3-8 SIAC) and will return to action tomorrow for a single, nine-inning game against the Panthers.
