February 27, 2015 – ATLANTA – Jalen Logan-Givens pitched seven shutout innings and got plenty of run support, as Morehouse cruised to a 13-3 win over Clark Atlanta.

Logan-Givens, who improved his record to 2-1, scattered three singles, struck out eight batters and walked one. In a masterful pitching performance, only one Panther got as far as second base, against the junior right-hander.

Jordan Tarver, as the designated hitter, swung the big bat for Morehouse, driving in five runs, on two hits, a sacrifice fly and a walk.

The Maroon Tigers pounded out 11 hits and scored nine earned runs against two Panther pitchers. Junior shortstop Elijah Sudduth hit a double, driving in two runs and freshman infielder Derrick Lewis had a single and two RBIs.

Xzadrean Gladney came on in relief in the eighth inning and gave up three runs, though only one was earned. The game, rescheduled from this upcoming Sunday, was set for nine innings, but was halted at the end of eight because of darkness.

Morehouse started the scoring in the second inning, on a single by Jared Maner and an RBI double by Jordan Tarver.

Tarver's base-loaded single drove in two more runs, in the third inning following a single by Zachary Lowe and walks to Patrick Dickerson and Maner.

In the fifth, a sacrifice by Tarver drove in Christian Griffith, who had advanced to third base on a single and a walk.

The Maroon Tigers exploded for six runs in the sixth inning, on four hits and three walks.

They tallied three more in the seventh, on a hit, three walks, two errors and a pair of passed balls.

Morehouse improved to 4-6.

The Tigers and Panthers will lace them up again, Saturday, for a doubleheader, at noon.

If weather permits, the two teams will meet Sunday, for a single, nine-inning game, which could start as early as 11 a.m.
