Box Score January 15, 2015 – ATLANTA – The Maroon Tigers turned the ball over a season-high 26 times and lost 77-63 to the Stillman College Tigers.
The loss halted the Morehouse five-game win streak and dropped the Maroon and White to 7-6 (5-1 SIAC).
Nearly everyone got in on the turnover debacle, with all but one Maroon Tiger committing at least one miscue. Stillman, on the other hand, turned the ball over only 11 times and converted that disparity into a 27-12 points-off-turnovers advantage.
Morehouse out-rebounded the visiting Tigers, 41-30, but lost the points-in-the-paint battle 40-22.
For the third straight game, Tyrius Walker led Morehouse in scoring. The freshman guard tallied a game-high 16 rebounds, to go with three assists and two steals.
Walker tied teammate Tyrone Brown with a game-high seven rebounds. Brown added eight points.
Javarius Gay posted 12 points and hauled in six rebounds. Austin Anderson chipped in nine points and Brandon Glover and Michael Hall each contributed seven points.
Four Stillman Tigers posted double figures, led by Jamon Jackson-Wilson, with 14 points, and Markeith Madison, with 12. Stillman improved to 7-5 (3-2 SIAC).
Morehouse returns to action, Saturday, at 3:30 p.m., to face the Kentucky State University Thorobreds.
