Morehouse Ends On Losing Note

November 9, 2013 – FRANKFORT, KY – Morehouse ended the season on a sour note, losing 44-0 to the Kentucky State University Thorobreds.

The Thorobreds scored in every quarter, with touchdown passes of 5, 7, 25, 54 and 68 yards, to go with a 46-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Lance McGuffie, who usually plays wide receiver, was Morehouse's leading rusher, gaining 83 yards on seven carries. Freshmen running backs Malik Johnson, with 49 yards, and Doug Wyche, with 16 yards, carried the rest of the rushing load.

Quarterback Joshua Harris completed 4-of-14 passes for 50 yards. He threw two interceptions and was sacked five times.

Wide receiver Brandon Sartin caught three passes for 45 yards, to lead the Tigers.

Mitchell De-WALT tied for game-high honors with nine tackles, Christopher Hambie picked up seven tackles. Hakeem Sawyer had six tackles and forced and recovered a fumble.

The shutout is the first time the Maroon Tigers were held scoreless since losing 23-0 to Fort Valley, in 2002.

Morehouse finishes with a season record of 2-8, for the first time since 1999.
