Morehouse Beats Stillman For Season's First Win

November 29, 2011 –ATLANTA –Shawn Allen scored a career-high 27 points and led three other Maroon Tigers in double figures, as Morehouse won its first game of the season, with a 94-88 win over the Stillman College Tigers.

After taking a 13-12 lead early in the first half, Morehouse led the rest of the way and snagged their first conference win over the SIAC rivals from Tuscaloosa, AL.

Allen shot 7-of-7 from the field, in the first half, and was nearly perfect for the entire game, finishing 11-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. His 27 points were a career high and he led all players in points and rebounds, with 11 boards. 

Daniyal Faquir had 23 points. Mario Farris and Andrae Nelson had 17 each.

Playing without starting forward Jonathan Tassin, who sat out with a knee injury, Morehouse played their best game this year.

The Maroon Tigers hit the road to Orangeburg, SC for a game against Claflin, Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. before returning home, Saturday, at 3 p.m., to face the Miles College Golden Bears.
