November 9, 2011 – ATLANTA – For the third time this season, running back David Carter and center Marlon Jones have been voted SIAC Players of the Week.

Jones was rewarded as the Offensive Lineman of the Week, for his stellar showing in the, 28-24, win over the Kentucky State Thorobreds. He anchored a Morehouse offense that drove 62 yards in 11 plays in the final five minutes, to score the game's winning touchdown.

Jones was instrumental in four scoring drives of more than 70 yards each, in the come-from-behind win. The offensive gained 422 yards, averaged 5.8 yards per play and gave up no sacks or fumbles.

Carter, the Offensive Player of the Week, was the chief beneficiary of Jones' excellent blocking. The two-time SIAC rushing and scoring leader gained 200 yards on 34 carries and scored three touchdowns, against the Thorobreds.

Carter had touchdown runs of 2, 4, and 60 yards. His final TD run brought Morehouse back from a 24-21 deficit, with 3:42 left in the game.

With a full season of eligibility remaining, Carter holds the Morehouse single-game (361 yards) and season rushing records (1,495 yards). He is 151 yards shy of breaking the career rushing record of 3,669 rushing yards, held by John David Washington, 2002-05.
