Maroon Tigers Lose to Stillman

November 30, 2010 – TUSCALOOSA, AL – Early season woes continued for the Maroon Tigers who lost their third straight game – this one to the Stillman College Tigers, 68-57.

Morehouse dropped to 0-3. Stillman improved to 2-2.

After pulling ahead 7-6, Morehouse never held the lead again, in the year's first action against an SIAC rival. The Maroon Tigers trailed by only four at halftime, but couldn't close the gap, despite keeping it close throughout.

Austin Anderson led the Maroon Tigers with 15 point, on 5-of-10 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 free throws.

David Buchannon was the only other Morehouse player with double figures. He contributed 10 points, including two three-pointers.

Jonathan Tassin, who led Morehouse in scoring in the first two games, scored eight points. Jelani Figures, last year's scoring leader, added two points.


Stillman's LaJay Sears torched Morehouse with 28 points, on 10-of-13 shooting, to go with a game-high eight rebounds.

In the last home game of 2010, Morehouse will host the Claflin University Panthers, Thursday, at 7:30 p.m. at Forbes Arena. On Saturday, the Maroon Tigers will travel to Birmingham, to face the Miles College Golden Bears.
