Before Morehouse:
Prepped at Crossland High School in Camp Springs, MD, where he competed in Football and Track & Field (Long Jump, 400M, 110 Hurdles, 200M, 100M). He was also involved in Culinary. Gibson earned 1st-Team All County Wide Receiver, Team MVP (Most Valuable Player), Team OPOY (Offensive Player of The Year), and Honor Roll Student ‘19,’20,’21. He graduated in 2021. Before Morehouse, he attended Frostburg State University (3 years).

He is from Temple Hills, MD, and is majoring in Cinema, Television, and Emerging Media Studies, Communication Studies at Morehouse. He is a wide receiver. His nickname is "JG." Gibson chose Morehouse because academics; Learning to connect, become a Morehouse Man & bring a SIAC Trophy to the house. After Morehouse, he plans to whatever the Lord has in store in for him !; Start his career & build a family. He enjoys Video Games, Bible Study, Listening to Gospel Music, Weight Lifting, and Journalism. His favorite shows include Flash, Breaking Bad, and Stranger Things. His favorite professional sports teams include Washington Commanders, Washington Wizards, Washington Nationals, Washington Capitals, and Washington Mystics. He lists Lebron James and Odell Beckham Jr among his favorite sports figures and influences. He lists commanders Hail Mary Miracle vs the Chicago Bears as his greatest sports moment.
