Freddie Brown, Jr.

Freddie Brown Jr. will serve Morehouse College as Offensive Coordinator. Coach Brown began his coaching career at his Alma mater Wofford College in the spring of 1999-2005 coaching Running Backs and Special Teams. As a player Brown was a four year starter at Running Back for the Terriers from 1987-1991. During that time Brown helped the Terriers to the schools first NCAA Division II Playoff selection, and top 20 national ranking in 1990.

A well traveled and experienced coach, Brown has coached or played in most modern offensive systems. coach Brown joins the Maroon Tigers after two separate stints with CIAA Champion and Div II playoffs selection Johnson C Smith University. Coach Brown served as an assistant coach for the Golden Bulls and special teams coach. During his time at Johnson C Smith he produced two All CIAA Running Backs (Jacob Newman, Bobby T Smith). Both were also named Freshmen of the year and to the all Freshmen team. Brown had similar success at Wofford where he coached the Southern Conference Player of the year RB Jesse Mcoy, Kevious Johnson (Wofford Hall of Fame), Dane Romero (Wofford Hall of Fame)and JR McNair (Wofford Hall of Fame).

In 2001 Brown through the Bill Walsh coaching Fellowship was selected to coach at the Carolina Panthers where he worked in the West Coast offense as a RB coach. Brown was a high school Head Coach at Spartanburg High School (SC) and Woodruff (SC) where his teams always competed for a state title by earning a playoff birth every season. Coach Brown is an Army veteran where he served as a commissioned officer after completing ROTC at Wofford College. Coach Brown has two sons Freddie Brown III (University of South Carolina,Liberty) and Treylen Brown (Jacksonville State, Pittsburgh Steelers). Brown nicknamed  ‘Judge’ also served as a Magistrate Judge in NC and SC over the past 12 years.
