The Maroon Tigers claimed the opener 13-8, then backed it up with a 9-3 win in the nightcap to improve to 18-15 overall and 14-10 in conference play. For a Morehouse club that entered the weekend sitting sixth in the league standings, it was the kind of complete day needed in a tight conference race.

Game 1 — Morehouse 13, Clark Atlanta 8

Morehouse came out swinging and put Clark Atlanta on its heels immediately. The Maroon Tigers scored four runs in the top of the first, added two more in the second, and appeared to be in firm control before the Panthers made their push. Even after Clark Atlanta erased the deficit in the sixth, Morehouse had one more answer and delivered the decisive blow late.
