Morehouse Track Wraps Up Season at NCAA Division II Nationals

PUEBLO, CO| Morehouse College concluded its 2025 track & field season with two athletes competing at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships, held May 22–24 at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl. Sophomore Michael Simmons Jr. and junior Jermiah Alibey represented the Maroon Tigers in the 400 meters and 400-meter hurdles, respectively.

Simmons Jr. Competes in 400 Meters

Michael Simmons Jr. took to the track in the 400-meter preliminaries, recording a time of 46.98 seconds, placing him 13th overall. Despite a strong effort, Simmons Jr. did not advance to the finals, which were limited to the top eight competitors.

Alibey Runs in 400-Meter Hurdles

In the 400-meter hurdles, Jermiah Alibey posted a time of 52.91 seconds, securing the 16th spot in the preliminary round. Similar to his teammate, Alibey did not move on to the finals.

Building for the Future

While neither athlete advanced to the finals, their participation at the national level marks a significant achievement for Morehouse College's track & field program.  The Maroon Tigers look forward to building upon this experience and aiming for greater success in future championships.
