Atlanta, GA | The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has selected Victor Chebii as its Men's Track Athlete of the Week and Noah Willingham as its Men's Field Athlete of the Week following standout performances at the Tiger Relays on March 14 in Savannah, Georgia. Their efforts helped lead Morehouse to the team championship with 196.5 points, finishing ahead of Albany State (132.5) and Savannah State (112).
Chebii turned in the top all-around scoring performance of the meet for the Maroon Tigers. He captured the 5,000 meters in 16:51.3 and added another win in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:31.5. He also ran on Morehouse's second-place sprint medley relay and first-place distance medley relay, giving him 34 total team points when relay scoring is included.
Willingham earned conference field honors after delivering a strong two-event performance. He won the long jump with a mark of 6.37 meters (20-10.75) and also finished second in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.96, totaling 15 team points for Morehouse.
The two weekly honors highlighted a dominant team showing for Morehouse, which posted the top men's score of the meet and continued its strong start to the outdoor season.
