SUMTER, SC | The Morehouse Maroon Tigers completed their road swing in South Carolina, on Tuesday, with a sweep of Morris College in a doubleheader.
GAME ONE: MOREHOUSE 13, MORRIS 7
Robert Robinson Leads Morehouse Tigers Past Morris College
Robert Robinson collected three hits in four at bats, as Morehouse defeated Morris College 13-7 on Tuesday. Robinson singled in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the first inning.
Morehouse collected nine hits and Morris College had seven in the high-scoring affair. The Maroon Tigers got on the board in the top of the first inning after
Raymond Jenkins hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and
Vernon Clay grounded out, scoring three runs. Morehouse added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Robinson singled to the left side of the infield, Morris College committed an error, and Jenkins hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Morehouse added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Robinson singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.
Jamie Lawrence III pitched three innings in relief for Morehouse. The hurler gave up two hits and two runs while striking out none and walking two.
Saivion Mohammed led things off on the bump for Morehouse. The hurler allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
Morehouse piled up nine hits in the game.
TJ Whiteman, Jenkins, Robinson, and
Vernon Clay each drove in two runs for Morehouse.
Victor Clay and
Myles Gordon each collected multiple hits for Morehouse.
Elijah Pinckney paced Morehouse Tigers with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing 11 walks for the game. Pinckney stole two bases. Morehouse stole seven bases in the game. Morehouse turned one double play in the game.

Raymond Jenkins's Clutch Hitting Propels Morehouse Tigers To Victory Over Morris College
Raymond Jenkins drove in four runs on three hits to lead Morehouse past Morris College 12-1 on Tuesday. Jenkins hit a home run to center field in the second inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the fourth inning, scoring one.
Morehouse got on the board in the top of the first inning after
Vernon Clay drew a walk, scoring one run, and
Victor Clay singled, scoring two runs. Morehouse scored three runs in the top of the second on a home run to center field by Jenkins.
Morehouse scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning.
Robert Robinson singled, scoring two runs,
TJ Whiteman doubled, scoring one run, Jenkins singled, scoring one run, and Andrew Rhoden singled, scoring one run.
A solo home run to center field in the bottom of the fourth was the lone run for Morris College.
Noah Grayson opened the game for Morehouse. The hurler surrendered zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
Darrien Chapman,
Quenton Mitchell Jr, and
Roman Stamps each came on in relief for Morehouse Tigers and shutdown Morris College.
