Morehouse Sweeps LeMoyne-Owen in Dominant Volleyball Victory

ATLANTA, GA | In a decisive and commanding performance, the Morehouse Maroon Tigers swept the LeMoyne-Owen Magicians in straight sets (25-21, 25-20, 25-18) at Frank L. Forbes Arena in Atlanta, GA,. The victory gives Morehouse an advantage as the two battle for seeding for the upcoming SIAC Men's Volleyball Tournament.  The win improved the Maroon Tigers conference record to 3-8 in SIAC play.

Set 1: Morehouse 25, LeMoyne-Owen 21

The first set was highly competitive, featuring 12 ties and six lead changes. Initially, LeMoyne-Owen held a narrow lead at 9-6, driven by consistent attacks from Alendy Sincoul. However, the momentum shifted dramatically when Morehouse responded with critical offensive efforts, particularly from Aidan Pullian, who provided key kills and a crucial block alongside Michael Bloodworth. Daniel Allen also contributed effectively, adding significant kills to maintain pressure on the Magicians. Morehouse took advantage of several service errors and attack miscues from LeMoyne-Owen, steadily building their advantage. In the closing moments, Michael Bloodworth delivered the decisive kill, securing a 25-21 victory and setting the tone for the rest of the match.

Set 2: Morehouse 25, LeMoyne-Owen 20

Set two remained tightly contested with eight ties and seven lead changes. LeMoyne-Owen again opened strongly, briefly taking control behind effective attacks from Alendy Sincoul. However, midway through the set, Morehouse shifted momentum decisively through strategic serving, particularly from Charles Parrish Jr., who delivered critical service aces, and powerful kills from Daniel Allen and Michael Bloodworth. LeMoyne-Owen struggled with ball-handling errors and attack inaccuracies, which the Maroon Tigers exploited to build a solid advantage. Morehouse maintained consistent pressure, eventually securing the set with a 25-20 win.

Set 3: Morehouse 25, LeMoyne-Owen 18

The Maroon Tigers quickly took control in the third set, building an early lead and never relinquishing it. Strong serving performances from Daniel Allen, who delivered consecutive aces, along with critical kills from Charles Parrish Jr. and Michael Bloodworth, kept LeMoyne-Owen at bay. Despite a brief rally attempt by the Magicians, Morehouse maintained their composure, capitalizing on errors and exhibiting cohesive defense. The set concluded decisively with a 25-18 victory for Morehouse, punctuated by a powerful final kill from Michael Bloodworth, completing the sweep.
