Robert Robinson drove in five runs on three hits to lead Morehouse past Alabama Huntsville 18-14 on Wednesday. Robinson singled in the fifth scoring two, singled in the seventh scoring two, doubled in the first scoring one, and walked in the second scoring one.
Morehouse collected 18 hits and University Alabama Huntsville had 11 in the high-scoring affair.
Morehouse got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Robinson doubled to center field,
TJ Whiteman grounded out,
Vernon Clay singled to the right side of the infield,
Victor Clay walked, and
Elijah Pinckney walked, each scoring one run.
The Maroon Tigers added six more runs in the bottom of the second inning on three hits. Whiteman hit a solo home run to center field,
Myles Gordon laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, Lee Hodges grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, and Robinson drew a walk, scoring one run.
Morehouse added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Alabama Huntsville committed an error, and Hodges singled to right field, each scoring one run.
Alabama Huntsville scored seven runs on three hits in the top of the seventh inning. An error scored one run, and then drew a walk scored one run, A single added two runs, and Butler followed by a double, scoring three runs.
Quenton Mitchell Jr earned the win for Morehouse. The pitcher gave up four hits and three runs over one inning, striking out none and walking none.
