ATLANTA, GA | The Morehouse Maroon Tigers dropped two of the three contests, this weekend, to the Miles Golden Bears at Gresham Park.
GAME ONE - Miles 4, Morehouse 1
Morehouse Tigers Loses Despite Out Hitting Miles College Golden Bears
Morehouse Tigers fell 4-1 to Miles College Golden Bears on Saturday despite out-hitting them nine to five.
Robert Robinson led Morehouse Tigers with three hits. Miles College Golden Bears got on the board in the third inning after a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run. Miles College Golden Bears scored two runs in the top of the fifth on a home run to left field. Miles College Golden Bears scored one run in the top of the ninth on a solo home run to left field.
James Thorpe hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the ninth for the Morehouse Tigers.
Jaelyn Rhynes earned the win for Miles College Golden Bears. The pitcher allowed nine hits and one run over eight innings, striking out five and walking one.
Cameron Solomon took the loss for Morehouse Tigers. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out four and walking one. MIles' Camden Matthews earned the save.
Morehouse Tigers amassed nine hits in the game. Thorpe went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.

Raymond Jenkins each collected multiple hits for Morehouse Tigers.
GAME TWO - Miles 4 Morehouse 2
Strong Hitting Not Enough As Morehouse Tigers Falls To Miles College Golden Bears
Morehouse Tigers fell 4-2 to Miles College Golden Bears on Sunday despite out-hitting them 11 to five.

Vernon Clay, and
Raymond Jenkins each collected two hits for Morehouse Tigers.
Miles College Golden Bears got on the board in the top of the second inning after a walk, and a grounded out, each scoring one run. Miles College Golden Bears scored one run in the top of the third on a solo home run to left field.
Morehouse Tigers scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Jenkins.
Jayson Wood earned the win for Miles College Golden Bears. The pitcher gave up six hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking four.
Saivion Mohammed took the loss for Morehouse Tigers. The righty went five innings, giving up four runs on four hits, striking out two and walking three. Camden Matthews earned the save.
Morehouse Tigers tallied 11 hits in the game.
Vernon Clay and Jenkins were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Morehouse Tigers.
GAME THREE - Morehouse 8, Miles 1
James Thorpe's Strong Eye Leads Morehouse Tigers Past Miles College Golden Bears
James Thorpe showed a strong eye at the plate on Sunday, as Thorpe walked three times while leading Morehouse Tigers to an 8-1 victory over Miles College Golden Bears.
Morehouse Tigers scored six runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. Thorpe homered to center field, scoring two runs,
Elijah Pinckney doubled, scoring two runs,
Raymond Jenkins was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Thorpe drew a walk, scoring one run.
Miles College Golden Bears scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to left field.
Noah Grayson earned the win for Morehouse Tigers. The starter surrendered five hits and one run over six innings, striking out five and walking none. Nick Copen took the loss for Miles College Golden Bears. The starting pitcher went three and one-third innings, allowing three runs on four hits, striking out none and walking three.
Ian Makle threw one inning of no-run ball for Morehouse Tigers in relief. The pitcher gave up one hit, striking out one and walking one.
Morehouse Tigers piled up nine hits in the game. Pinckney led Morehouse Tigers with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position.
Nicholas Pittman collected two hits for Morehouse Tigers in four at bats. Thorpe led Morehouse Tigers with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Morehouse Tigers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
Satchel Hamilton had the most chances in the field with six.
