ATLANTA, GA | Morehouse College tight end
Maurice Veney has added another postseason accolade to his standout 2025 campaign, earning Second Team All-Super Region 2 recognition from the Division 2 College Communicators Association (D2CCA).
The regional honor comes on the heels of Veney's selection as a First Team All-SIAC tight end, underscoring his status as one of the top pass-catching tight ends in the region. The 6-foot-4 sophomore from Philadelphia, Pa., emerged as a reliable target in the Maroon Tigers' up-tempo passing attack throughout the season.
Veney finished the year with 32 receptions for 381 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 11.9 yards per catch and 38.1 receiving yards per game. He ranked among the team's leaders in both receptions and receiving yards, providing a big, physical presence in the middle of the field and in the red zone for quarterback Miles Scott.
Beyond his numbers, Veney's versatility made him a key piece of the Morehouse offense. He was frequently called upon to block in the run game while also flexing out as a receiver to create mismatches against linebackers and safeties. His production helped spark a late-season surge that included a three-game winning streak and a homecoming victory over Lane as the Maroon Tigers battled through one of Division II's most competitive regions.
Morehouse closed the season with a 3–7 overall record, including a 3–5 mark in SIAC play, but Veney's performance ensured the Maroon Tigers were represented on both the conference and regional postseason teams.
