ATLANTA- In a doubleheader showdown against Morris College, Morehouse resilience and determination, bouncing back from an earlier loss against Kentucky State. The day's events unfolded with a triumphant 8-4 victory in the first game, followed by a closely contested 8-9 defeat in the second.
Game One:
Morehouse wasted no time asserting their dominance in the first game, with Myles Tucker and Robert Robinson setting the pace by securing two early runs. The Maroon Tigers maintained their scoring streak, extending it into the third inning.
Although Morris College managed to get on the board with two runs in the third, Morehouse regained momentum, adding two more runs in the seventh inning to solidify their lead and secure an 8-4 victory.
Game Two:
The second game of the doubleheader proved to be a nail-biting affair, with both teams trading blows from the outset. Morehouse struck first, grabbing an early lead with two runs, only for Morris College to respond with one of their own.
Despite Morehouse maintaining their lead through the next two innings, and into the fifth inning, Morris mounted a comeback, gradually chipping away at the deficit. In a tense finish, Morris clinched a narrow 8-9 win over Morehouse.
The Maroon Tigers are back in action this week as they get ready for the Peachtree City Classic Tournament. The tournament is kicking off on February 9 at Gresham Park.
Morehouse will play against Lincoln at 11am.
