Fort Valley, GA- In another impressive display of skill and determination, Morehouse College continued their winning streak by securing a 67-58 victory over Fort Valley State this evening.
From the opening moments, Morehouse demonstrated their readiness to dominate, securing the first points of the game with a technical foul against the Wildcats. Fort Valley State quickly responded, leveling the playing field with a three-pointer by Pierre Mitchell. The first half witnessed intense back-and-forth scoring, with Morehouse managing to establish an eight-point lead. However, the Wildcats fought back valiantly, tying the score twice at the 4-minute and 3:11 marks, bringing the score to 25-25. Morehouse reclaimed the lead and headed into halftime with a narrow advantage, leading 30-29.
The second half unfolded with both teams fiercely competing for control. The score remained tight, with multiple ties, the last occurring at 11 minutes with a score of 46-46. At 8:46, Morehouse seized the lead once again, and from that point forward, they maintained control, securing crucial points and thwarting Fort Valley State's attempts to stage a comeback. As the clock winded down, Morehouse held their ground, securing the win.
Kenton Eskridge had 11 points for Fort Valley.
Jaden Gray and Cedric Taylor III would both finish with 13 points.
The Maroon Tigers are back at home on this weekend as they host Edward Waters University. Tip-off at 2pm.
