Columbia, SC- The Maroon Tigers traveled to Columbia, SC to take on Benedict College in a weekend series but due to the weather the series got pushed back to Sunday and Monday. On Sunday, Apr 2, they would kick off the series with a doubleheader against the Tigers. The Tigers would take both the wins in the doubleheader, 14-4, and 21-14. They finished the series this afternoon and the Maroon Tigers would walk away with a blowout win, 0- 12.
Game 1:
Morehouse would have a rough start to the series as they would have difficulty scoring a run until the 4
th inning where they would score three runs. However, Benedict did not have that issue as they kicked off the game with six runs, in the 2
nd inning seven runs and in the 3
rd inning just one run.
Justin Murray would carry the Tigers would 3 RBI's, following behind him was Jacob Hall, Taj Bates, would finish with 2 RBI's. Jalen McDuffie, Jayden Jordan, and Jamie Taveras both had 1 RBI.
Alan Brown would lead his team with 2 RBI's. David Coleman and
James Thorpe both had 1 RBI.
Game 2:
The Maroon Tigers would come back ready for a win against the Tigers, but they had a different plan as they would kick off the 1
st inning with two runs. Morehouse would not score until the 2
nd inning with two runs by
James Thorpes and Lee Hodges. In the 3
rd inning, both teams would score runs, Morehouse would score four and Benedict would score five. For the rest of the game, both teams would go back in forth in scoring, but Benedict would score 21 runs and Morehouse score 14 runs.
Isaiah Canty had 5 RBI's. Taj Bates, and Jayden Jones had 3 RBI's. Jalen McDuffie, and Jamell Mitchell had 2 RBI's and coming in behind them was William Martinez, and Anthony Makinster both had 1 RBI.
Alan Brown had 3 RBIs.
James Thorpe, David Coleman, and
Jaiden Proper had 2 RBI's.
Daniel Smith,
Elijah Pinckney,
Jaylen Greene, and
Dexter Redding had 1 RBI.
