Morehouse Kicks Off Weekend Series Against LeMoyne-Owen With Two Straight Wins

Atlanta, GA- The Maroon Tigers kicked off their home weekend series with a double header against LeMoyne-Owens. The Maroon Tigers would secure the first game with a win, 6-2, and would dominate against the Magicians in the second game, 15-1.

Game 1:
Morehouse kicked off the game by getting two runs in the first inning, first one scored by David Coleman II and James Thorpe would hit a home run. In the top of the fourth inning, LeMoyne-Owen tied things up at two when Eldrion Harvell singled, scoring one run, and Gabriel Fuentes would score as well.

During the sixth inning, the Maroon Tigers would take a small lead making the score, 4-2. For the rest of the game, LeMoyne Owens would struggle to score anymore runs. Morehouse would score two more runs in the seventh inning making it 7-2 and would secure the win.

Gabriel Fuentes and Eldrion Harvell would have 1 RBI.

For Morehouse, James Thorpe would have 3 RBI, and accomplished 2 home runs. Jaylen Greene had 2 RBI's, and David Coleman II had 1 RBI.

Game 2:
The Maroon Tigers would come back ready for another win against the Magicians. The Maroon Tigers would get a late start as both teams would go without scoring in the first inning. Starting the second inning, the Maroon Tigers would get the first points on the board by TJ Whiteman. The Magicians would get one run on the board in the third inning and that would be the only time they would score.

Morehouse would score multiple runs all the way up to the sixth inning. In the sixth inning, they would score over five runs making the score 15-1.

Justin Shelley would have 1 RBI.

Jayleen Greene had 4 RBI's and behind Greene was Lee Hodges with 2 RBI's. Elijah Pinckey, David Coleman II, James Thorpe, Jaiden Proper, TJ Whiteman and Dexter Redding all finished with 1 RBI.

The series continue tomorrow Sunday, Mar 19, at 12pm.
