Maroon Tigers Go 0-2 In Double Header Versus Miles College

Atlanta,Ga- The Maroon Tigers finished their weekend series against Miles College, losing all three games. On Saturday was the doubleheader which would end  15-7, and the second game would end 8-1.

Game One:

The Maroon Tigers and the Miles College Golden Bears squared off in their second matchup at Gresham Park. The Golden Bears drew first blood in the first inning, but Morehouse added three runs of their own in the first inning. Down 3-1, Miles scored three runs in the fifth inning following a sacrifice fly to Maroon Tiger RF James Thorpe, where Golden Bear DH Brandon Leroy benefited. Leading 6-3 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, the Maroon Tigers were ready to even the score with three runs on their own. Thorpe scored the game-tying run after a wild pitch was thrown. From the sixth inning on, the Golden Bears ran away with the game after only one more run scored from the Maroon Tigers LF Jaylen Greene on a line drive to center field, allowing Jalen Gibbs to score. However, the Golden Bears defeated the Maroon Tigers 15-7 in the first of two matchups on the day. Golden Bear LF Trey Rutledge led all players with five runs in the game.

Game Two:
In the second doubleheader matchup, the Golden Bears picked up where they left off from the first game. The Golden Bears led the Maroon Tigers 6-0 by the sixth inning, with the Maroon Tigers' lone run coming from SS Elijah Pinckney stealing home in the fifth inning. In the seventh inning, after 2B John Riley singled a ground ball to CF Michael Scott, Golden Bear 1B Isiah Jordan scored, followed by Clifton Orr. The Golden Bears defeated the Maroon Tigers 8-1 in their second matchup of the day.
