Atlanta, GA- The Maroon Tigers winning streak comes to an end as they fall to Benedict College, 69-63.
Morehouse would kick the game off by getting the first two points, but the Tigers would quickly snatch the lead away from the Maroon Tigers. At 13:32, Morehouse would catch up and tie the game, 10-10 but that tie would quickly disappear with a jumper by Tim Moore. Benedict would create a eight point advantage over Morehouse but with back to back scoring by
Kerry Richardson they would quickly catch up and at .41 seconds would only be down by two points and would finish the half at, 28-26.
Returning from the half, Benedict came out on fire and score back to back shots within the first two minutes of the second half. Morehouse would finally get on the board at 18:29 with a dunk by
Christian Lamar and jumper by
Ibn Williams. The scoring would go back and forth until the Tigers created an 11 point lead over Morehouse. The Maroon Tigers would fight to get the win but
ultimately the Tigers secured the win with a six point lead.
Tim Moore would lead his team with 25 points. Brandon Smith was right behind him with 19 points.
Ibn Williams would carry his team with 17 points, two assists, and two steals.
Kerry Richardson would be right behind with 12 points, two assist, and one block.
The Maroon Tigers last game of the season is on Monday, Feb 20
th, as they host Allen University at 7pm.
