ATLANTA- After a tough loss last weekend, the Maroon Tigers bounced back, coming out the gates with ferocious energy, protecting home court with a 81-64 win over LeMoyne-Owen College.
From Tip-Off, the Maroon Tigers were aggressive driving to the paint, causing early first half foul trouble for LeMoyne-Owen. The Maroon Tigers, led by point guard,
Damion Mitchell, who had a team high of 19 points and went eight for 14 from the field, was one of four Tigers in double figures tonight.
Keshawn Pegues had him self a night, tallying a double-double, going eight for 18 from the field.
The Maroon Tigers had a rough shooting game, but were able shut down LeMoyne-Owen on the defensive end.
The Magicians shot 24 for 72 and only lead for a couple minutes in this game, trailing the rest of the way. The Maroon Tigers were able to hold LeMoyne-Owen to only 10 assist on the night, as the Maroon Tigers swarming man-to-man defense made LeMoyne-Owen uncomfortable getting into their half court offensive.
After this win, the Maroon Tigers move on to a resounding 6-4 record on the year, and 4-0 in the SIAC.
In just two days, they will be back at home, playing against Lane College, Monday, December 18 at 7pm.
