Atlanta, GA- The Maroon Tiger had a statement 20-point win tonight against Fayetteville State University, a score of 77-55 at the HBCU All-Stars Challenge home at Forbes Arena, making that their first win on the season.
The Maroon Tiger's intensity on Defense gave them all the needed momentum and set the tone for the game. The swarming Tiger defense forced 15 Turnovers and shot 15/18 from the foul line.
Keyshawn Pegues, Senior and transfer from Talladega College, played a big role in the Maroon Tiger's success on both sides of the court. Pegues recorded a team-high 20 points on 61 %, along with six rebounds, and had three steals just in the first half.
In the second half, the Maroon Tigers continued their aggression holding the Broncos to just a whooping 34.4% shooting from the field and 34% from beyond the arc.
With this win, the Maroon Tigers look ahead to day two of the Challenge tomorrow as they face Livingston College from the CIAA Conference, looking for their second win of the season.
