Rock Hill, SC- The Benedict College men's outdoor track and field team won its second consecutive
SIAC Championship with a dominating performance, beating runner-up
Morehouse College by 62.5 points on Saturday at Winthrop University's Irwin Belk Track.
Benedict entered the final day with a 66.5-point lead over
Morehouse. The Maroon Tigers scored 89 points on Saturday, but Benedict held them off by scoring 90 points.
Albany State was third with 113 points, followed by Fort Valley State (80), Savannah State (61), Tuskegee (59.5), Spring Hill (49), Lane (33), Central State (25) and Kentucky State (5).
For the Maroon Tigers, Decathlon John
Dinall came in first with a total of 5,440 points. The 100 meters he came in at 11.51, long jump 5.54m, shot put 11.11m, high jump 1.65m, 400
meters 52.64, 110 hurdles 16.95, discus 30.31m, pole vault 2.54m,
javelin 47.86m, and 1500 meters 5:07.80.
Brain
Kemei would come in first in the 10000 meters with a time of 31:38.52,
Johndell Cumberbatch coming in first in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:09.16, and in the 400 meters Cameron
Selders with first place and a time of 47.51.
