Atlanta, GA- Tonight our Men's Volleyball hosted their first game of the season against Webber International. Despite the loss, the support around the team was felt and immense in Forbes Arena. When the Maroon Tigers would block the opponent's strike or get a kill during the game, the arena would go nuts. Morehouse head volleyball coach had this to say about their team's performance.
 
"Overall perspective we had a lot of nerves, at some point we showed flashes of settling down, Coach Lightfoot said. But with the crowd support really galvanized the moment, and we appreciate that of course."
 
For the most part, Morehouse kept their starters in with few substitutions.
 
"We had starters to start this game, but it does not mean that's our starters per se; we're still trying to see what combinations work and see who can play together, Coach Lightfoot said. We're trying to build chemistry right now; we have a few good other guys that just have to get more experience."
 
After the game, both teams took pictures to conclude the historic day. Minutes after the match, supporters came to the court to celebrate the players of the Morehouse volleyball team. Right-side Freshman Bryce Clemens led his team with four kills. Webber International's Kevin McCarthy would lead all scorers with seven kills.
