Columbia, SC- Morehouse just defeated the number 1 team in the East division. This afternoon Morehouse (18-6) played against Benedict College (19-6) final score 88-76.
Morehouse started the game out slow paced, letting Benedict College get the first points of the game. Our Maroon Tigers soon woke up and got their first two points with 18 minutes into the game. Until the Tigers Brandon Smith started hitting back-to-back threes in the first half getting Benedict a 16-point lead on Morehouse. Within the last two minutes of the game Morehouse made an incredible come back only letting Benedict lead by two points until the last .16 seconds of the first half when
Kerry Richardson hit a jumper giving Morehouse a one point advantage.
As the second half of the game started, Morehouse nor Benedict scored any points until 18:11 when Benedict's Brandon Beidleman shot a jumper giving the Tigers a one-point advantage over the Maroon Tigers. But that one-point lead soon disappeared as Morehouse hit eight threes in the second half getting an 18-point lead on Benedict. Benedict fought hard to get the lead back, but
Morehouse wanted it more and finished out the game with the win.
