Atlanta, GA- Morehouse Maroon Tigers defeated Clark Atlanta University 84-64. Due to a delay, the game initially scheduled for 6 pm started at 7. From the jump, the game started raucously due to the crowd as the Clark Atlanta Panthers managed to jump out to an early 6-0 before Morehouse guard
Elijah Stewart hit a three on a Fastbreak and let the crowd know about it after.
Both Elijah and
Andrew Stewart are former players of Clark Atlanta, and it was their first game back in their former gymnasium. Clark Atlanta guard Shannon Smith was on fire with five threes combined with 17 points in the first half. He would finish with 23 points for the game.
However, the Maroon Tigers finished the first half with a 32 -29 lead over the Panthers. The Maroon Tigers' barrage of threes blew their halftime lead wide open in the second half. They would go 6-10 from three.
The playmaking from Morehouse was superb, as well as they tallied up 14 assists on the night.
Again, the Maroon Tigers played like a team on their way to their 11th straight win of the season as points came from all over. Guard
Noah Morgan led the Maroon Tigers in scoring with 17 points, three assists, and one block.
Andrew Stewart sent the crowd home fittingly with a statement dunk to end the game guard as the lead ballooned up to 20 points.
