Memphis, TN- The Maroon Tigers break their three game losing streak against LeMoyne-Owens College, 78-67.
Morehouse started out the game with a jumper by
Kerry Richardson and quickly turned that into a 10 point lead over the Magicians. At 5:07, the Magicians would break that 10 point lead into a 2 point lead with a layup made by Gjerard Wilson and a dunk by Kaeden Lawary would tie the score, 28-28. With a quick turnaround foul by Tariq Shepherd, Morehouse would get the lead back with both free throws made by
Joemel McNair. With .22 seconds remaining, the Maroon Tigers would finish the first half with a 6 point lead over LeMoyne-Owens, 41-35.
The two teams battled it out in the second half, with the lead changing two times. At 5:03, the Maroon Tigers would gain a 15 point lead and kept it for the rest of the game. With .53 remaining, the Magicians were able to break that double digit lead down to 9 points but with back to back scoring by Morehouse they would secure the win.
Carrying his team was Gjerard Wilson with a total of 14 points, following behind him was Tariq Shepherd with 13 points.
Ibn Williams leads the Maroon Tigers with a total of 20 points.
Kerry Richardson would be right behind Williams with 15 points.
The Maroon Tigers are on the road again as they get ready to take on Lane College on December 17
th at 4pm.
