Morehouse Defeats Livingstone College By Incredible Buzzer Beat

Atlanta, GA- With six seconds left in the game, the Maroon Tigers and Livingstone were tied at  67-67 by three. After a loose ball underneath the basket, Morehouse guard Andrew Stewart secured it and passed it to his twin Elijah Stewart for the three-point shot. Stewart delivered, and after getting fouled, he had a chance to take the lead.

But, instead, the Maroon Tigers would defeat the Livingston College Blue Bears 71-67 to end day one of the inaugural HBCU All-Stars challenge. At the beginning of the first half, the Maroon Tigers had taken an early 7-0 lead behind the hot start of Maroon Tigers guard Andrew Stewart, taking advantage of playing at home. However, the Blue Bears would shake off the rust and quickly bounce back, going on a 7-0 run themselves.

After tying, the game would become a back-and-forth affair, and the Blue Bears led 32-30 to end the first half. Andrew Stewart would finish with 12 points at the end of the first half. The Blue Bears would add to their lead in the second taking control of the game for most of the second half.

Up 64-55 with 4:15 remaining in the game, the Maroon Tigers had to turn up the heat if they were to come back. Maroon Tiger guard Elijah Stewart's 16 points in the second half would help as the Maroon Tigers clawed their way around, having little time for error. After a foul with 40 seconds left, Stewart shot three free throws tying the game at 67.

Livingstone forward Paul Tako would finish the game with 19 points, four rebounds and two steals.

Andrew Stewart would lead all scorers in the game with 21 points, four steals and four assists.
