Atlanta, GA- Morehouse's Men's Basketball will be hosting their last home game of the 2021 season as they taken on Lane College (6-4) tomorrow, Saturday Dec 18 at 1pm.
A recap of this past weekend our Maroon Tigers had 2 games in Alabama, the first one was at Tuskegee University were Morehouse lost an incredible game by 3 points, final score 73-76.
Morehouse top scorer for the game against Tuskegee was
Xavier Brewer who led his team with 15 points and 4 rebounds. To follow behind Brewer was Morgan who added 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assist.
The next game took place in Mobile, AL as the basketball team played against Spring Hill this past Monday. Spring Hill started out the game extremely fast paced but Morehouse quickly caught up the game was back and forth on who was going to take the lead until Morehouse finished out the first half with the lead. The second half of the game was intense and it once again it was a battle for the lead with the last minute of the game the Maroon Tigers took off with the win, 86-70. Sophomore,
Andrew Stewart achieved his first career high of double digits leading the Maroon Tigers with 21 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assist to follow Stewart was
Ibn Williams who scored 15 points, and to finish off our lead scorer was
Elijah Stewart who added 11 points 2 rebounds and 2 assist.
Athletes Meeting Excellence (AME) Toy Drive:
Please bring a new unwrapped toy to the Saturday game as AME give the gift of giving to the west side of Atlanta. You can also drop off your toy today at the Historic Ebenezer Church on Sundays and at Buzz Café and Wine House in the Cascade area every day starting today until December 20th. We will have toy boxes in the Lobby that you can bring to the game! Toys will be distributed on December 23rd to kids in this region.
