Morehouse's Curry and Vanover To Compete At NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships

KINGSVILLE, Texas - Morehouse College track & field athletes Samuel Curry and Dedrick Vanover will represent the Maroon Tigers at the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships being held May 23-25 at host Texas A&M University-Kingsville at Javelina Stadium in Kingsville, Texas

Curry, a junior from Nashville, Tennessee, qualified in the 400 meter hurdles at the Falcon Finale hosted by the University of Montevallo with a time of 52.28 good enough for the 23rd best time in the nation. Curry is the reigning Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) champion in the 400 meters. He will be running in the prelims on Thursday, May 23 at 8:40 p.m. and the finals on Saturday, May 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Vanover, a sophomore from Gainesville, Florida, will compete in the 100 meter race after running the 13th fastest time in the country (10:36) at the Falcon Finale. Last month Vanover became the SIAC champion in the 100 and 200 meter races. He will compete in the prelims on Thursday, May 23 at 7:10 p.m. and in the finals on Saturday, May 25 at 6:45 p.m.
