Morehouse College fell in the final game of the 2
nd Annual Arthur J. McAfee, Jr. Memorial Classic to Georgia College, 64-60, on Sunday afternoon in Forbes Arena.
The Maroon Tigers drop to 5-4, 2-0
SIAC while the Bobcats improve to 3-5, 0-1
PBC.
MHC went into the locker rooms down by only six points (25-19) despite struggling from the field in the first half as they went the final 7:59 without a bucket going 0-of-17 shooting during that stretch and shot only 18.4 percent for the half. Morehouse led 17-12 with 8:56 remaining but GC used an 13-2 run to end the half for the halftime lead.
Morehouse shot 50 percent in the 2
nd half and got within two points at 62-60 with nine seconds remaining in the game but Georgia College nailed their last two free-throws for the four point victory.
Individual Leaders
Morehouse was led by
Robert Andrews (Detroit, MI) who had a team-high 14 points and six rebounds while freshman
Demarcus Johnson (East Point, GA) came off the bench to score 10 points and pull down three rebounds.
Georgia College was led by
Chris Parks and Jordan Thomas who both finished with a game-high 19 points.
