OPENING TIP - The #11 ranked Morehouse College basketball team continues its four-game road swing Monday in the state of Tennessee as it takes on Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference western division foe Lane College at the J F Lane Gymnasium. Tip is set for 5 p.m. ET

SCOUTING MHC - MHC heads into the game sporting an 11-1, 5-1 SIAC record and returns to action after defeating LeMoyne-Owen, 70-66, this past Saturday with junior transfer Robert Andrews (Detroit, MI) leading the way with 19 points. Senior forward Omar Alston (Waldorf, MD) picked up his ninth double-double of the season as he had 17 points and 10 rebounds in the winning effort while senior guard Michael Olmert (Atlanta, GA) had another solid performance with a game-high nine assist and six points. Junior Forward Keith Heard (Atlanta, GA) chipped in with eight points and six rebounds while blocking a season-high five shots in the win. The Maroon Tigers have four players producing in double figure scoring averages with Alston recording a team-best 16.3 points per game as well as leading the SIAC in rebounds with 11.2 per game good enough for fourth nationally and eleven blocks. Andrews is second on the team averaging 11.8 points per game while Chibueze Ebinum (Lanham, MD) is scoring 11.0 points per contest. Olmert is averaging 10.2 points while dishing out an SIAC-best 8.4 assist per game which ranks him third in the NCAA. 

SCOUTING LC - Lane comes into the game with a record 8-5, 5-2 SIAC but after getting off to a good start has lost three of their last five games. LC lost a nail bitter this past weekend at home against Clark Atlanta, 74-72. The Dragons are led by Terrance Holt who is averaging a team-high 15.8 points per game while SIAC Pre-Season Defensive Player of the Year, Kendarius Ash, is second on the team averaging 15.5 points while hauling down a team leading 11.1 rebounds per game and 13 blocks.

LAST 10 MEETINGS - Heading into Monday's game, MHC is 8-2 in the teams last 10 meetings. The teams met one time last season on Jan. 6, 2018 which saw the Maroon Tigers improve to 13-0 with a 85-53 victory over the Dragons at Forbes Arena in Atlanta. GA. Martravious Little had a game-high 21 points while Omar Alston had a double-double, 10 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE - Omar Alston has nine double-doubles this season which leads the SIAC and is good enough for third in the nation.

THANKS FOR THE DISH - Michael Olmert leads the SIAC averaging 8.4 assist per game which ranks him third in the NCAA. Olmert had a season and career-high 14 assist on January 2, in a victory over Spring Hill College.

QUEST FOR 300 - Head coach Grady Brewer is just 10 wins shy of 300 career wins as head coach of the Maroon Tigers. Brewers 290 wins sits him third all-time in Morehouse coaching victories behind Arthur J. McAfee (463) and Frank L. Forbes (298).

WHERE DO WE RANK? - The Maroon and White come into tonights game ranked #11 in the NABC Coaches Poll. Last season Morehouse was ranked as high as #7 during their historic season which saw MHC finished with a 25-3 record and host of the NCAA DII South Regional.

UP NEXT - The Maroon Tigers return to action this Saturday, Jan. 12, as they travel to Augusta, GA to battle the Lions of Paine College in the HEAL Complex. Tip is set for 3 p.m. ET
