AUGUSTA, Ga. - The #7 ranked Morehouse College basketball team won its 9th straight game as Omar Alston led the Maroon Tigers with a triple-double in a 84-61 rout of eastern division foe Paine College on Saturday afternoon in Augusta, Georgia.

MHC got off to a hot start in first half as they led 11-0 in the first two minutes and 20-4 by the first media timeout. The blistering shooting included hitting on 10 of their first 11 shots allowing Morehouse to take a commanding 48-32 lead into the half.

Morehouse continued their dominance in the second half as they led by 19 points midway through the second stanza at 69-50 before winning by a 23 point margin, 84-61.

Turning Point
After Paine cut a 19 point deficit to just seven points (54-47) with 13:20 remaining in the game, Morehouse went on a 9-0 run in the next two minutes extending their lead to 63-47 and never looked back.

Individual Leaders
Senior forward Omar Alston (Waldorf, MD) had a career night as he finished with a triple-double, 18 rebounds, 13 points and 11 assist in the win. Junior guard Robert Andrews (Detroit, MI) shot 6-of-8 for a team-high 18 points and two rebounds including shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from behind the arc in the first half. Senior Guard Micheal Olmert (Atlanta, GA) finished with a double-double as he had game-high 13 assist and 11 points.
