#11 Morehouse Drops First Game Of Season To Miles, 81-63

Box Score ATLANTA, GA – No. 11 Morehouse College basketball dropped their first game of the season to Miles College, 81-63, Monday evening in Forbes Arena.

The Maroon Tigers drop to 4-1, 1-1 SIAC, while the Golden Bears improve to 2-2, 2-0 SIAC.

MHC kept the game close throughout the night but free-throw shooting was the catalyst as MC hit  22-of-23 while Morehouse only took 14 from the charity strip, connecting on only seven.

The Maroon Tigers were led by senior forward Omar Alston who finished with 13 points and a game-high 17 rebounds, good enough for his fourth double-double of the season. Junior transfer Robert Andrews (Detroit, MI) finished with a game-high 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field while
Michael Olmert (Atlanta, GA) had another strong performance dishing the ball with nine assist.

Miles had five players in double-figures led by transfer Devante Fuller who finished with a team-high 18 points.

The Golden Bears won the rebounding battle 34-29, and turnovers 16-15 which ended with 25 points on the miscues by Morehouse.

The Maroon Tigers return to action this Saturday, Dec. 1 as they travel to Raleigh, N.C. to take on CIAA foe St. Augustine's University. Tip is set for 4 p.m.
