February 16, 2017 – ATLANTA – Tyrius Walker matched his career high of 33 points and led Morehouse to a 93-84 victory, in the team's third overtime game in two weeks.

Walker topped all players, hitting 9 of 14 shots from the field, including 4 of 5 triples. His 11 of 14 shooting from the free-throw line helped Morehouse to an 82 percent clip, the second best this season. He added seven assists, five rebounds and three steals to his stats line.

In the game that was run and gun from the start, the Golden Bears drew first blood, building a 10-point lead, early in the first half. The Maroon Tigers chipped away at the lead and settled for a 39-35 disadvantage at the half.

The Maroon Tigers got their first lead, on a three-pointer by Ayinde Russell, who was scoreless in the first half. After going 0 of 9 in the first half, Russell came alive, collecting all 17 of his points, following intermission.  

Morehouse went ahead by six points, with two minutes to go, but the Bears fought back, tying the score at 77-all, in regulation.

In the overtime, it was all Morehouse. The Maroon Tigers outscored the Bears, 16-7, for a second straight win.

Martravious Little scored 10 of his 16 in the first half, on 4 of shooting. He also chipped in four steals and three rebounds.  

Like Walker and Russell, Omar Alston logged 40 minutes, contributing eight points, nine rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Duby Maduegbunam scored nine points and Jordan Wallace recorded eight points, three rebounds and two assists.

Shaquille Cook did most of the work for Miles, scoring 16 points and grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds. E. Reginald Smalls had a team-high 22 points, to go with four assists and two rebounds.

Morehouse improved to 14-9; 8-7 SIAC. Miles dropped to 7-15; 7-6 SIAC.

The Maroon Tigers will host the Claflin University Panthers, Saturday, at 3 p.m. The Maroon Tigers beat the SIAC's #1 Panthers, 87-84, in overtime, in Orangeburg, SC, February 6.
