AUC Cats Battle for Bragging Rights

| By:

Saturday's basketball matchup between Morehouse and Clark Atlanta will be more than just a game. It will be a quest for Atlanta University Center bragging rights between teams that share common ground.

Friendly, on the one hand, yet fiercely competitive on the other, this game matches up backyard rivals who have been going at it for decades. No matter what the records are in any given year, Morehouse and Clark Atlanta save their best games for each other. Saturday's game will be no different.

In addition to the largest crowd of the year rocking the Forbes Arena rafters, this game will feature a brief lookback at Morehouse basketball history.

At halftime, head coach Grady Brewer will present former Atlanta mayor Shirley Franklin with the framed basketball jersey of her late son, Cabral Franklin, who played at Morehouse 1993-1997 and died in September.

In addition, Coach Brewer and former coach Arthur McAfee will honor members of the 1989-90 Morehouse team that was the only SIAC team to advance to the NCAA Division II Final Four.

Morehouse faculty, staff and students and Spelman students are admitted free. For all others, admission is $10.
