February 11, 2012 – ATLANTA – Trailing from start to finish, Morehouse lost to Clark Atlanta, 85-67, for the second time this season.

The loss was the second double-digit loss to the cross-campus Panthers, who won 77-64, January 26.

Morehouse fell to 5-16 (5-14 SIAC) and twelfth place in the SIAC. CAU improved to 13-10 (13-6 SIAC) and moved to first place in the conference.

The Panthers jumped out to an early lead, increased it to 39-28 at halftime and cruised to victory.

In addition to out-rebounding Morehouse 43-29, the Panthers out-shot the Tigers from the field and the free-throw line. The biggest margin was in three-point shooting, where the Panthers hit 10-of-18, compared to 3-of-14 for the Tigers.  

For the sixth consecutive time, and the thirteenth time, overall, Shawn Allen led Morehouse in scoring. Allen hit 6-of-12 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the line, for 19 points. His nine rebounds led the Tigers in that category for the eleventh time this season.

Andrea Nelson also went 6-of-12 from the floor, for 13 points. But the 6'-6” junior was held to only two rebounds, by a larger Panther front line that repeatedly double-teamed Morehouse's leading rebounder.

Making the most of his time off the bench, Mario Farris hit 6-of-13 shots and pulled down six rebounds.

Chukwudi Ndudikwa, a transfer from Georgia State and a recent addition to the team, saw his first action as a Maroon Tigers, hitting a three-pointer and 4-of-6 free throws for seven points.

Daniyal Faquir, who averages 11.9 ppg, was held to four points. Cornez Nesbitt chipped in five points.

Five Panthers scored in double figures, including four who notched 15 points each. The top performer was Antonio Burch who scored 15 points, hauled in three rebounds and dished out a game-high eight assists.

Morehouse will take on the Tuskegee Golden Tigers, Monday, 7:30 p.m., in Forbes Arena. The Maroon Tigers lost on the road to Tuskegee 69-60, January 21.
