October 6, 2012 – WEST POINT, GA – The Flying Maroon Tigers showed why they are the #5 team in the South Region, outrunning 10 other cross country teams, at the Point University Invitational.

Morehouse, with 29 points, finished well ahead of second- and third-place finishers, Darton State College (56 points) and SCAD Atlanta (117 points), as well as the rest of the field.

Karlton Mitchell led the way for Morehouse, blistering the 8K course, in a time of 26:33.42. It was the second strong outing for Mitchell, who finished second to teammate Novian Middleton, in last week's Morehouse Invitational.

Middleton had to settle for third place, overall, and second for Morehouse, at 27:04.86. He crossed the line just behind Genesis Henderson, of SCAD Atlanta.

Shinaola Agbede grabbed the sixth spot, with a time of 27:4.47, less than two seconds ahead of teammate Kasahun Neselu, who covered the course in 28:09.38.

Rounding out the Morehouse scoring was Nicholas Hall, who timed in at 29:04.18, to secure the #12 spot.

Blake Bufford, at 29:12.29, in the #15 spot, and Michael Wooten, at 29:33.94, in the #19 position, solidified the Morehouse dominance among the 78 runners.

Morehouse is scheduled to run in the Morehouse/Tuskegee Invite, at Tuskegee, AL, Wednesday.
