Maroon Tigers Lose to Golden Bears

| By:

December 3, 2011 – ATLANTA – The Maroon Tigers threw up a season-high 64 shots, but only 23 went in and Morehouse lost a nail-biter to the Miles College Golden Bears, 72-70.

Neither team could muster more than an 8-point lead, in the game that featured seven ties and 13 lead changes.

The second straight loss overshadowed a 22-point, 12-rebound effort by Shawn Allen, who recorded his third straight double-double and led all players in both categories.

Andrae Nelson had another strong game, with 18 points and five rebounds.

Mario Farris scored 14 points, for his fourth double-figure game. Most of those points came from the free-throw line, as he went 9-of-12 from the charity stripe, but only 2-of-10 from the field.

The loss drops Morehouse to 1-4 (1-2 SIAC) and will return to action January 2, against Paine, at home.
